About Latticework

Hello — I'm Sergey.

I started Latticework Partners because I kept seeing the same thing: mission-driven organizations doing extraordinary work, led by people I deeply admire, held back by fundraising programs that hadn't been built for where they were trying to go. Not for lack of will or talent — just for lack of someone to come alongside them and help build it.

I'm a seasoned fundraiser with more than fifteen years in nonprofit advancement, most of it building development programs from scratch at Seattle-area organizations. I've grown advancement departments. I've led tripple-digit revenue growth. I've run event portfolios with water-tight ROI. I've led corporate campaigns. I've written and won institutional grants, modernized CRMs, redesigned annual funds and monthly giving campaigns, and built planned giving programs. Across it all, I've helped raise more than $63M for causes I believe in.

What I've learned is that fundraising, at its best, isn't mechanical. It's horticultural. You prepare the ground. You plant carefully. You build the structure that lets things grow. You tend it through hard seasons. And when it blooms, you share it.

Why Latticework

A latticework is a deliberate structure in service of organic growth. That's what I try to build with every client: something rooted in your values, strong enough to hold weight, open enough to let the living parts of your organization, your people, your donors, your story, reach toward the light. I don't hand you a binder. I help you grow something real, and I stay close enough to help you tend it.

How I work

Plainly. Warmly. With a practitioner's respect for the people actually doing the work. I prefer fewer clients done well to many clients done thinly, and I'll tell you the truth even when it's inconvenient. That's what a good partner does.

I'm particularly drawn to organizations working at the intersection of community, equity, and justice: immigrant services, housing, health access, youth development, cultural organizations rooted in historically underserved communities. Philanthropy, done with integrity, is one of the ways we move resources toward the change the world needs.
